Method 2: Immigrate to Canada through studies

Introduced in 2017, the BC Tech Pilot program offers a fast track to Canadian permanent residency for international IT talent in the province of British Columbia. New immigration programs in 2022

On April 14, Canada’s Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino announced the new programs. As of May 6, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will begin accepting applications for the following three streams

30,000 applications for temporary workers in other selected vital occupations
40,000 applications for foreign students graduating from Canadian educational institutions.
The streams will accept applications who want apply in canada for study or work in canada until 2023 or until the maximum number of applications is reached. This new government policy applies to workers in 40 medical professions, as well as 95 other key professions in various fields, such as nursing and food production and distribution.
To qualify, workers must have at least one year of experience in Canada’s healthcare sector or another per-approved vital industry occupation. International graduates must have completed the relevant Canadian post-secondary education program within the last four years, and no earlier than January 2017.
Graduates and workers must be fluent in one of Canada’s official languages, meet the general eligibility requirements and be able to work and be employed in Canada at the time of application. They must also reside in a Canadian province other than Quebec.
“This new policy will help people with temporary status plan for their future in Canada to play a key role in our economic recovery,” Mendicino said in a press release. “Our message to them is simple: their status may be temporary, but their contribution is lasting, and we want them to stay.”
