Kelvin Sampson Summer Basketball Camps are set for June

HOUSTON – University of Houston Men’s Basketball Head Coach Kelvin Sampson and the Cougars will host three summer camps during the month of June, and campers are encouraged to sign up soon before all pitches are filled.

Team Camp will be held for teams at the high school level on 10-11. June. Day Camp 1 will be held 14-17. June, while Day Camp 2 is held 20-23. June.

Camp clothes / what to bring

Players should get dressed for basketball with t-shirt, shorts, socks and basketball shoes. Players can bring a water bottle or buy water or Powerade from the camp store. Basketballs will be provided and it is not necessary for campers to bring their basketball.

Campers SHOULD NOT bring video game units or other items not needed to play basketball. Houston is not responsible for lost or stolen items

Camper drop-off / pick-up

Parents / guardians should pick up and drop off their motorhome (s) at the lower club entrance to the Fertitta Center on the Holman Street side of the facility. The address of Fertitta Center is 3422 Cullen Blvd., Houston, TX 77004. Please note that the entrance to the camp will be on Holman Street and NOT on Cullen Boulevard.

Apart from the initial camp registration on Monday, parents / guardians should stay in their vehicles for delivery and pick-up. The camp staff will be outside to help with delivery and pickup every day.

Parents / guardians are kindly requested to be aware of the email to which their camper (s) have signed up, as this will be the primary form of communication for information regarding the camp.

Camp shop / meals

A camp store will be set up during the camp where campers can buy drinks, candy and pizza slices using social distance guidelines. When registering for a camp, parents / guardians can put money in the Camp Shop, which the camper can then use as a payment system to buy goods.

Breakfast is DOES NOT provided, and campers are encouraged to bring their own. The Camp Store will sell pizza slices if campers want it for lunch.

Please note that there is NO refund from the Camp Store. Parents / guardians should place money in the Camp Store that their camper (s) will use to the full.

Refund policy

There is a $ 100 / non-refundable deposit on all camp registrations.

If a motorhome is unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances (illness, injury, serious family situation), notice must be given prior to check-in and a refund will be given exclusive of $ 100 security deposit. If the camper has to withdraw from the camp due to unforeseen circumstances (illness, injury, serious family situation), the camper will be charged a proportionate fee based on the number of days present.

No partial refunds / discounts / or proportional rates for attending other events or only being able to attend certain days. Refunds will not be given for additional reasons.

The team camp’s game plan

The games start on the hour every hour from kl. 9.00 to kl. 20:00 every day. Exact playing times and matchups will be announced 24 hours before the first match.

Games will be held at the Fertitta Center (3422 Cullen Blvd., 77004) and the Guy V. Lewis Development Facility (3480 Cullen Blvd., 77004).


In addition to Monday for camp registration, parents / guardians or other visitors DOES NOT allowed to see camp during the week due to University of Houston policies.

Camp coach

A certified athletic trainer will be on site throughout the camp. Parents / guardians should communicate any medical issues for their camper (s) to the athletics coach during check-in.


Fans who were unable to secure 2021-2022 season tickets can start preparing for next season by depositing a $ 75 deposit and placing their names on 2022-23 men’s basketball season card priority waiting list by by clicking here.
