WASHINGTON, DC (April 2, 2022) – Morgan State men’s tennis team defeated Howard Bison, 6-1, in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference match on Saturday afternoon at the Banneker Recreation Center.
The Bears improved to 7-6 overall for the season, while Howard dropped to 5-6.

The Bears improved to 7-6 overall for the season, while Howard dropped to 5-6.
Morgan picked up the double point and never looked back and built a 3-0 lead before the bison finally got on the scoreboard when Tory Bailey struck down. Makkijha Brown 6-1, 7-6 on Lane 2.
Niles Rachal took the victory after the effort from Nihit Rawal and Mikeal Carpenter.
“It feels really great to get W against a team that performed just as well as us at the MEAC roundup,” Rachal said. “I think we all felt the pressure to win to win the division, but we took that pressure and let it nourish us.”
Rhajzhon Rankins held Hassimiyou Dieng, 6-4, 7-5, on lane 5, and Sebastian Lopez gathered to achieve a 6-7 (4), 6-3, 7-5 victory against Kyle Martin on lane 6.
Morgan’s best double pair delivered a convincing victory to secure the opening point. Rhajzon Rankins and Niles Rachal won 7-6 (3) against Kyle Martin and Gabe Knowles. Rankins and Rachal improved their double record to 9-3 for the season and 3-1 in conference play.
